Auditions Announced for 50th Festival of the Gnomes

JOLIET, Ill. - Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre is calling all gnomes, creatures, and characters to audition for the 50th anniversary production of the Festival of the Gnomes. Performers ages 5 through adult are invited to audition, and no previous theatre experience is required.

Auditions will be held at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre (201 W. Jefferson Street), on:

• Tuesday, October 6, at 5 p.m.
• Saturday, October 10, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

During auditions, participants will be asked to pantomime a scene, portray an animal through movement and expression, participate in a cold reading, and demonstrate strong voice projection, energy, and animation.

Previous cast members are encouraged to return but must audition for this year's production. Those unable to attend in-person may submit a video audition to [email protected] by Monday, October 12.

Rehearsals will take place during October and November, generally twice per week with occasional Saturday rehearsals.

The 50th Festival of the Gnomes will be presented at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6.
