January 21, 2026 - The City of St. Petersburg is seeking residents to serve on multiple boards and committees. See below for vacancies.
The Advisory Commission on Aging, a group of volunteer community leaders, serves as an advisory body to the City of St. Petersburg. The 15 members of the Board support, leverage and advocate for programs and resources that protect and ensure quality of life for St. Petersburg's aging community. The Commission's vision is a community where seniors can receive the services and resources needed to live a safe, independent and dignified life. More information at https://www.stpete.org/ACA
The City Beautiful Commission's initiative is to enhance and safeguard the beauty of our natural resources and city landscapes, thereby enriching the quality of life for our community. The Consolidated Plan Application Review Committee is a committee of City Council Members and private citizens that reviews applications submitted for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and makes recommendations to full City Council for approval of funding.
Funding provided to agencies assists with the operations of public services, homelessness assistance, rental assistance, affordable housing, and capital improvements. Staff has to implement the programs/projects under 24 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), among others. More information at https://www.stpete.org/CPARC
The Nuisance Abatement Board hears and decides cases involving properties in the city allegedly being used for illegal activity. This Board plays an important role in reducing crime and improving the safety and welfare of St. Pete citizens and visitors by encouraging property owners to take responsibility to prevent their properties from becoming the site of ongoing nuisance activities.
