Contra Costa, Solano & Alameda Counties - Caltrans is announcing ongoing closures related to the Fiber Optic Infrastructure Project along both eastbound and westbound I-80, I-980 and I-580 in Contra Costa, Solano and Alameda Counties. The construction work, which focuses on installing new fiber optic infrastructure, will be conducted during overnight hours, specifically between 9 PM and 5 AM to minimize traffic disruption.
The project will progress east from McDonald Avenue toward Carquinez Bridge. Full closures of ramps and lanes are planned from Monday, April 6, 2026, to Thursday, April 9, 2026, between 9 PM and 5 AM, affecting San Pablo Avenue ramps, San Pablo Dam Road ramp, Hilltop Road on ramp loop, Richmond Parkway ramps, and Fitzgerald Drive ramp. Additional nightly closures will occur near Appian Way, Carquinez Bridge, West MacArthur to I-80, and the I-980/I-580 interchange throughout the project.
Please note that some off ramps will be closed during these operations. Motorists are advised to use the prior exit to reach their destinations and avoid delays.
