Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Château-Thierry Monument to host tours in July, August

The American Battle Monuments Commission will host summer guided tours at Aisne-Marne American Cemetery each Saturday and Sunday in July and August.

Developed by site staff, in July, these special summer guided tours will focus on the importance of family to the lives of the service members buried at the cemetery. In August, guides will highlight the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences of those honored at the site.

Tours are free and open to the public. They will begin at 3:30 p.m., and visitors should meet in front of the visitor reception building to join a tour. Tours will be provided in French and English.

Just a 10-minute drive from the cemetery, Château-Thierry Monument will offer daily tours in July and August highlighting the history of the monument at 11 a.m. in English and 3 p.m. in French.

For more information about the tours at both sites, contact the cemetery staff at +33 03 23 70 70 90, or [email protected].

Aisne-Marne American Cemetery is located near Chateau-Thierry, France, and sits at the foot of Belleau Wood. Many of those buried and memorialized here lost their lives during the Aisne-Marne and Oise-Aisne Campaigns of World War I. Château-Thierry Monument commemorates the sacrifices and achievements of the Americans and French before and during the Aisne-Marne and Oise-Aisne offensives of World War I.
