FINN Partners, one of the world's largest independent communication, public affairs and marketing firms, today announced that Jeffrey L. Sturchio, PhD, is joining as a senior adviser. He will be part of FINN's Global Health Practice and work with the Health Policy and Impact Group. Dr. Sturchio's appointment strengthens a multinational team whose expertise spans health policy, stakeholder engagement, communications and purpose, adding one of global health's most respected advisors to its ranks.
Dr. Sturchio's career has spanned leadership positions at Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, the Global Health Council, Rabin Martin, and Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, TB, and Malaria, where he has helped shape global health policy, strengthen cross-sector partnerships and advance collaborative approaches to some of the world's most pressing health challenges. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a senior associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
"Organizations today face an increasingly complex environment where scientific innovation and clinical evidence alone are not enough," said Jeffrey L. Sturchio, PhD, senior advisor, Health Policy and Impact Group, FINN Partners. "Success depends on trusted relationships, thoughtful policy and meaningful collaboration. I have known and partnered with Mark Chataway for decades and have seen firsthand the exceptional team he has built. Collaborating with FINN Partners allows me to work alongside colleagues who understand how to bring diverse perspectives together to help clients strengthen partnerships and improve health around the world."
Dr. Sturchio will work closely with Mark Chataway, Managing Partner of the FINN Global Health Practice's Health Policy and Impact Group (formerly Hyderus), which advises governments, multilateral organizations, global biopharmaceutical companies, foundations and NGOs on some of the world's most important health challenges. As part of FINN Partners' Global Health Practice, chaired by Gil Bashe and led by Managing Partner Fern Lazar, the Group brings together policy expertise, strategic communications and practical global experience to help clients navigate an increasingly complex health landscape across seven continents and more than 100 countries.
"Few people have done more to bring together the organizations that shape global health than Jeff Sturchio," said Mark Chataway, managing partner, Health Policy and Impact Group. "His ability to build consensus among leaders with diverse perspectives has advanced meaningful progress on some of the world's most important health challenges. His experience further strengthens our ability to help clients navigate increasingly complex policy, partnership and stakeholder issues."
"The Global Health Practice has always believed that the best counsel reflects multiple disciplines and services," said Fern Lazar, managing partner, Global Health Practice, FINN Partners. "Mark has built an exceptional community of professionals based in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America, and Jeff's appointment deepens this shared knowledge base and connections. Together, our clients benefit from leaders who understand the science, the policy environment, communications landscape and the relationships needed to move important ideas forward."
Formerly known as Hyderus, the Health Policy and Impact Group has built a reputation for initiatives that shape dialogue and inspire action on policy issues such as financing, access and the changing face of care provision. Its Health Influencers program has connected many of the sector's most respected voices to address emerging policy and public health issues. At the same time, the Africa Media Summit has equipped journalists with the knowledge and relationships needed to improve health reporting across the continent. The group's work supporting vaccine confidence and equitable access has further demonstrated its ability to convene diverse stakeholders around issues of global significance.
"Health has never suffered from a shortage of innovation. The greater challenge has always been aligning the people, institutions and policies that ensure access and allow innovation to improve lives," said Gil Bashe, Chair Global Health and Purpose, FINN Partners. "Jeff Sturchio has devoted his career to bringing those communities together with integrity, curiosity and purpose. His decision to partner with FINN, long-time colleague Mark Chataway and the Health Policy and Impact Group reflects a passion for the mission of this work and the multidisciplinary counsel organizations increasingly seek as they navigate a rapidly changing global health environment."
