The City of Simi Valley's Council On Aging (COA) is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Wayne Templeton Volunteer of the Year Award. The award recognizes an outstanding volunteer who has made a meaningful impact at the Simi Valley Senior Center over the past year.
Nominations will be accepted through November 20, 2026. Nominees may be of any age, but only Simi Valley residents age 60 or older may submit nominations. The selection committee will consider both the time contributed and the impact of the volunteer service. The recipient will be recognized at the January 11, 2027, Council On Aging monthly meeting, and at a City Council meeting in early 2027.
"The Council On Aging plays an essential role in supporting and advocating for older adults in our community," said Janice Del Santo, COA Chair. "We encourage residents to nominate a deserving volunteer who has made a difference at the Senior Center. Help us celebrate community service by nominating a volunteer today."
