Overnight closure planned for Highway 1 near Lynn Valley Road

NORTH VANCOUVER - Drivers are advised to plan for an overnight closure of Highway 1 east of Lynn Valley Road on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.

The City of North Vancouver will be working on the Casano-Loutet pedestrian structure over Highway 1.

To facilitate installing the main span over Highway 1, a full closure will be in effect overnight from 10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, until 5 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured via Lonsdale Avenue, while westbound traffic will be detoured via Main Street. A detour will also be available through North Vancouver on Lonsdale Avenue, Esplanade Avenue, Low Level Road and Main Street.

Due to height restrictions for westbound traffic under Highway 1 on Main Street, over-height vehicles will be routed to Mountain Highway. At a check point at the north end of the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge, personnel will advise drivers of over-height vehicles to use Mountain Highway.

During the closure, drivers are reminded to slow down, follow signs and obey traffic-control personnel. Drivers should allow for additional travel time during the closure.
