DALLAS - W.H. Adamson High School will host its 17th Annual Toy Drive from 5:30 to 7 p.m., tonight, Dec. 17. Continuing a beloved Oak Cliff tradition, the event supports more than 200 families each year, providing gifts for over 400 children. Guests will enjoy performances from the band, choir, and Leopardettes Drill Team, along with photo opportunities with Santa. Made possible by Adamson's alumni, parents, and school community, this celebration reflects the campus' long-standing commitment to giving back and uplifting local families during the holiday season.
VISUALS:Hillcrest alum and Pistons player honored with jersey dedication
Today, Hillcrest High School alumnus and Pistons guard, Daniss Jenkins returned to campus for a special jersey presentation and student-athlete assembly. Jenkins joined students, staff, alumni, and teammates to dedicate a signed Pistons jersey. During the event, Jenkins spoke with students about his journey from Dallas ISD to the NBA, offering encouragement and answering questions about perseverance and pursuing dreams. Jenkins is the second alumnus in school history to reach the NBA.

VISUALS TOMORROW:Community comes together in holiday giving
The spirit of giving will be in full swing at Buckner Terrace Montessori, where more than 300 students will each receive a holiday gift at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 18. The event is made possible by donations from community members and sponsors, along with volunteers who spent hours wrapping gifts to bring smiles to the students' faces. The tradition began several years ago to ensure every child will open a gift during the holidays, while teaching students the importance of gratitude.
