Governor Mills Welcomes Governor-elect Hannah Pingree to State House

Augusta, MAINE - Today, Governor Janet Mills welcomed Governor-elect Hannah Pingree to the Maine State House and the Blaine House to discuss the upcoming transition from the Mills Administration to the Pingree Administration.

"I couldn't be prouder that the person Maine people chose to lead our state is my friend, Hannah Pingree," said Governor Mills. "Maine people selected Hannah because they know-just as I do from years of working together-that Hannah is ready to lead our great state forward. I look forward to working with Hannah and her team to provide the smooth and effective transition the Maine people expect and deserve and to ensure the Pingree Administration is ready to hit the ground running in January."

On Tuesday, Maine people overwhelmingly elected Hannah Pingree to serve as Maine's 76th Governor. In her congratulatory statement, Governor Mills praised the Governor-elect's "deep experience, sound judgment, and relentless optimism for Maine's future" and pledged the Mills Administration's full collaboration and support for a smooth transition process.
