As announced in November 2025, Jennifer B. Wieland has been selected by the Court to serve as Magistrate Judge at Kansas City. She will be appointed to the bench on March 18, 2026.
Judge Wieland succeeds Magistrate Judge Teresa J. James, whose March 17, 2026, retirement was announced in 2025. Judge James has accepted recall status so she will remain a sitting judge in the District of Kansas on a part-time basis.
