LOS ANGELES - The Red Flag Warning issued by the National Weather Service for the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties remains in effect due to moderate to locally strong Santa Ana winds and low humidity in these areas. The Los Angeles Fire Department has issued a Red Flag Alert with special Red Flag Parking Restrictions. During Red Flag Parking Restriction periods, vehicles illegally parked in posted locations within the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones will be towed. Mayor Bass and Chief Moore visited with firefighters in Pacific Palisades today. B-roll is available here.
Mayor Bass directed the LAFD to predeploy personnel and equipment to keep Angelenos and hillside communities safe. The LAFD is predeploying resources across the San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica Mountains, Hollywood Hills, and West LA, including CalOES Type III Wildland Fire Engines, additional Air Operations personnel, Brush Patrols, Dozer Strike Teams, Water Tenders, Metro Fire Communications personnel, and Wildfire Camera Monitoring.
All Angelenos should sign up for emergency alerts at NotifyLA.org and LAFD notifications at lafd.org/alerts. Updates will continue to be shared.
