Santa Ana Public Library will hold its 18th annual Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros (Children's Day, Book Day) celebration on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Plaza of the Sun, behind the Main Library, 26 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana.
Celebrate the importance of children, literacy and families with an appearance featuring Grammy Award-winning author and musician Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band. Lucky Diaz will feature his book, "Paletero Man."
"We invite families from across our community to come together in celebration of books, reading and the lifelong power of learning at our 18th annual Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros celebration," Mayor Valerie Amezcua said. "Every story a child discovers opens a new door to imagination, confidence and opportunity. By nurturing a love of reading today, we are investing in an educated and successful Santa Ana of tomorrow."
The free event will feature a variety of fun-filled activities, including a book giveaway for children, trackless train rides, an inflatable race track with pedal go-carts, a craft activity station, face painting, and a special meet-and-greet with our favorite book character, Cat in the Hat, from the popular Dr. Seuss book series. Attendees will enjoy a free hot dog, a free pretzel, and a sweet treat while supplies last.
