The City of West Hollywood will host two in-person Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) community meetings in September to engage the community with information as the City considers updates to its Rent Stabilization Ordinance. The meetings are free, open to the public, and drop-in.

Community meetings will take place at Kings Road Park, located at 1000 N. Kings Road; limited parking will be available at the Kings Road parking structure, located at 8383 Santa Monica Boulevard), as follows:

  • Tenants Session - Wednesday, September 2, 2026, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Landlords Session - Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The meetings will provide West Hollywood community members with opportunities to learn about proposed changes to the City's Rent Stabilization Ordinance, ask questions, and provide input. Tenants, landlords, property managers, and interested community members are encouraged to participate.

The City of West Hollywood's Rent Stabilization Division implements and oversees programs and policies that promote inclusiveness and resilience in the community through the fair regulation of rental housing. The Division administers the City's Rent Stabilization Ordinance, which establishes rent increase limits and tenant protections for much of the rental housing in West Hollywood. It also provides information and assistance to tenants and landlords and administers protections related to rent overcharges, tenant harassment, evictions, and construction impacts. Mediation and administrative hearing services are available to help resolve landlord-tenant disputes.

The Rent Stabilization Division also administers a range of housing programs, including tenant habitability requirements during construction; Ellis Act eviction protections and relocation assistance; inclusionary housing; the Non-Rent-Controlled Unit Registry; and a registration fee rebate program.

Since 1985, the City of West Hollywood's Rent Stabilization Ordinance has provided rent increase limits and tenant protections in West Hollywood. In 2025, 15,788 rental units were registered in the Rent Stabilization Program and subject to the program's annual rent increase cap and minimum maintenance requirements.
