Hudson Vicinage to Hold 37th Recovery Court Graduation

Hudson Vicinage to Hold 37th Recovery Court Graduation

The Hudson Vicinage will hold its 37th graduation ceremony with nine participants of its recovery court program on Wednesday, June 10 at the William J. Brennan Jr. Courthouse.

Graduates will appear in-person to receive their certificates of completion. Families, friends, and supporters can view the graduation virtually via a Zoom link here: Hudson Vicinage Recovery Court Graduation.

Assignment Judge David B. Katz will address the graduates and Recovery Court Judge Maureen Mantineo will preside over the event and will congratulate the graduates on their recovery and accomplishments.

Alexandra Tyrell, a Recovery Court graduate and case manager at Odyssey House in New York, will give the keynote address. The Hudson Vicinage Judiciary Choir will perform.

Graduates have attained a minimum of one year of continuous sobriety and have maintained gainful employment throughout their participation in the recovery court program. Most of the graduates are successfully earning or are working toward earning their general equivalency or high school diploma, and higher educational degrees, as well as satisfying their court imposed financial obligations.

The Judiciary's recovery court program operates with the Superior Court to address non-violent, drug-addicted offenders. The program requires completion of phases of intensive drug and alcohol treatment and recovery.

The event will take place at noon in the rotunda of the courthouse, 583 Newark Ave., Jersey City.
