Gov. Beshear Orders Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Kentucky Airman

FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 7, 2026) - Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, April 11, in honor of a Kentucky airman who died while supporting Operation Epic Fury.

According to the U.S. Department of War, Tech. Sgt. Ashley B. Pruitt, 34, of Bardstown, Kentucky, died March 12 in the crash of a KC-135 refueling tanker in western Iraq. She was assigned to 6th Air Refueling Wing, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

A funeral service for Pruitt will be held Saturday at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Cox's Creek, Kentucky.
