Celebrating the Businesses That Make Stafford Exceptional
Stafford County, VA - Stafford County Economic Development is proud to introduce the Legacy Business Recognition Program, an initiative created at the request of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors to honor and celebrate the businesses that have invested their time, talent and resources in Stafford. These businesses are the backbone of Stafford's economy and the heart of its community, shaping Stafford into the place where citizens live, work and thrive.
To date, more than 250 businesses have joined the program, representing decades of commitment and a wide range of industries. On the program's website, businesses that have been in operation for 20 years or more are highlighted, with some standing as true pillars of longevity, including Aquia Pines, a family-owned business that has proudly served Stafford for over 50 years.
The Legacy Program recognizes businesses across categories that reflect the diversity and strength of Stafford's economy:
As Legacy Businesses, participants receive a custom Legacy window decal and digital badge, recognition through Stafford County's social media platforms, and acknowledgment at the annual Business Appreciation Reception.
To further highlight the program's impact, Stafford County recently released a video series featuring interviews with several Legacy Businesses. In these stories, business owners shared how meaningful it is to be recognized by the local government and supported by the community they serve.
Stafford County Board of Supervisors Chairman Deuntay Diggs remarked, "Our businesses, whether large or small, new or established, make Stafford the thriving community it is today. This program is about recognizing that commitment and ensuring that every business that chooses Stafford knows how much they matter to us."
Beyond recognition, the Legacy Business Recognition Program also serves as a tool for economic insight. By gathering key information about our local businesses and their diverse backgrounds, Stafford County
Economic Development can connect them with opportunities through local, state and federal programs, grants, and resources. This helps ensure Stafford's business community is well-positioned for future success.
"As Stafford continues to see economic grow, we want to make sure every business feels seen and valued for choosing to do business here," said Liz Barber, Director of Economic Development. "The Legacy Program gives us an opportunity to celebrate their success while building stronger connections to resources that will fuel their next chapter."
Stafford County encourages all businesses-new and established-to join in this celebration of achievement, resilience, and community pride. To learn more and join the Stafford County Legacy Business Recognition Program, visit: https://www.gostaffordva.com/stafford-county-legacy-business-program.
