TDOT Announces I-240 East Lane Closures for Bridge Repairs

MEMPHIS, TN - The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announces lane closures on Interstate 240 East in Shelby County for bridge repair activities on the Black Bayou Bridge.

Beginning Friday, August 28, at 8:00 p.m. through Monday, August 31, at 6:00 a.m., motorists should expect the following:

  • Lane closures: I-240 East between SR-4 (Lamar Avenue) and Getwell Road.
  • At least one lane will remain open at all times to help maintain traffic flow.
  • Exit 20A-B (Getwell Road) from I-240 East will also be closed.

All work is weather permitting. September 11 through September 14 will serve as backup dates if needed. Motorists should plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
