Bonded Transportation Program and Capital Projects advancing Countywide

Commissioners received updates on several major bonded transportation and ongoing capital projects benefiting our community. As of September 2, the County has spent $138 million on the Bonded Transportation Program. Owner's Representative WGI continues to collaborate with County staff to design and build these safe and efficient roadway and drainage systems. Commissioners hold first public hearing on FY 2025-2026 Budget and Millage Rate

Commissioners held the first of two required public hearings to adopt the FY 2025-2026 budget and millage rate. Staff reported that the tentative budget is balanced, as required by Florida Statutes, and reflects a reduction in the total budget from the previous year. Commissioners scheduled the second and final public hearing for Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 5:05 p.m. in the Board of County Commissioners meeting room. Clay County Charter Review Commission appointments finalized for 2025-2026

Commissioners approved the appointments to the 2025-2026 Charter Review Commission. In accordance with the County's Home Rule Charter, the CRC is convened every four years to evaluate and recommend potential amendments or revisions to the Charter. The Commission consists of 15 members and five alternates. Commissioners unanimously approved all 20 proposed appointees. New members appointed to local advisory boards

Commissioners appointed several new members to serve on our citizen advisory committees. Five individuals joined the new Doctors Inlet Ridgewood CAC, and one new member joined the Fleming Island CAC. Commissioners also appointed two new members to the Historic Preservation Board. These groups provide valuable input on land use, zoning, and historic preservation in Clay County.
