April 3, 2025 - "People, Purpose, Presence" - That's the theme of National Public Works Week, taking place May 18-24, 2025 through the American Public Works Association. To kick off National Public Works Week, the City of Bettendorf's Public Works Department is hosting its Annual Public Works Day on Saturday, May 17 from 9am-1pm at the Bettendorf Public Works Annex, 4403 Devils Glen Road. This is a family-friendly, fun-filled event that includes:
"On this Public Works Day, it is important to celebrate our dedicated staff and their service to our community by ensuring a high-quality life for all our residents," said Brian Schmidt, Public Works Director.
NAMING CONTEST: After a successful Recycling Truck Naming Contest in 2024 that received 4,446 submissions, the City is holding a Snowplow Naming Contest for its two new snowplows in 2025! Click here to submit a name by April 17. On April 18, the City will launch a poll for people to cast their vote on their favorite name. The two winning names will be revealed at Public Works Day on May 17.
