José Manuel Salazar Bogado, a senior business analytics major from Caracas, Venezuela, was included in the "Best & Brightest" list of Poets&Quants, a global magazine covering business schools and MBA programs.
According to the article, which is available here, Bogado's favorite course is data science, and his minor is computer science. He graduated from The American School Foundation, A.C., of Mexico City, and he's lived in China, Malaysia, Mexico, the U.S., and Venezuela. Bogado credits James Maxey, a Trinity University lecturer in finance and business analytics, with having the most impact on him through his Excel and data visualization class, which he started with dad jokes.
Shage Zhang, Ph.D., chair of the finance and business analytics department, said Bogado "consistently elevated the people around him." She said, "José combines intellectual rigor, global awareness, and humility in a way that is rare at the undergraduate level."
