NATCA President Nick Daniels, National Safety Chair John Murdock, and other NATCA members recently participated in the Air Lines Pilots Association (ALPA) Air Safety Forum in Chicago. This year's event centered around the theme, "Moving Forward Together."
NATCA President Nick Daniels was a panelist during a discussion that focused on prioritizing safety in a rapidly advancing airspace system, while National Safety Chair John Murdock's panel discussion focused on how artificial intelligence (AI) may eventually be used in the National Airspace System (NAS). Murdock pointed out that controllers currently do not use AI in their daily operations, but the technology is under consideration for analyzing and summarizing future operational reports.
ALPA represents and advocates for more than 80,000 pilots at 43 U.S. and Canadian airlines, making it the world's largest airline pilot union.
