At approximately 12:07 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault in progress in the 1600 block of Richardson Street.
Initial information indicated two parties were in an altercation and one party was stabbed. Upon arrival, officers detained a person and provided emergency medical care to the injured person. EMS and Columbia Fire Department personnel respond to manage medical care. One person was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Columbia Police arrested Grant Buxton, 44, of Columbia, for first-degree assault, armed criminal action and felony possession of narcotics.
