In recognition of Fire Prevention Week, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue will host an open house on Wednesday, October 8, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Center (4600 South Main Street).
All members of the community are invited to attend this free event! During the open house, guests can explore rescue vehicles and equipment, chat with fire personnel, and kids will have the opportunity to spray water from a fire hose and get fire safety information. Hot dogs will be provided courtesy of Cedar Falls Fareway, and Nothing Bundt Cake in Waterloo will be providing cake for the event.
About Fire Prevention Week
Fire Prevention Week (FPW) is observed nationally during the week in which October 9 falls. The goal of FPW is to raise awareness about fire safety and provide information to the public on the importance of fire prevention and how to stay safe. FPW in 2025 is from October 5 to October 11, and the theme is 'Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-lon Batteries in Your Home'. Learn more about FPW and find resources at www.fpw.org.
