The Week Ahead: Week of April 13 – 17

WASHINGTON - This week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will convene for a business meeting, a policy hearing, and a nominations hearing.

  1. Business Meeting: The committee will convene for a business meeting to vote on three nominees, Catherine Dillon to be assistant secretary of State for educational and cultural affairs, Ademola Adewale-Sadik to be U.S. director of the African Development Bank, and Yeouk Kim to be the U.S. representative of the Association of Southwest Asian Nations.   2. Full Committee Hearing: The committee will convene for a policy hearing titled Reforming the UN: Assessing U.S. Efforts and Priorities. Witnesses include The Honorable Mike Waltz, U.S. representative to the UN, and The Honorable Jeff Bartos, U.S. representative to the UM for management and reform.

  3. Nominations Hearing: The committee will convene for one nominations hearing. Witnesses include John Breslow to be ambassador to Cyprus, Fleet White III to be assistant secretary of State for political and military affairs, Todd Steggerda to be U.S. representative to the office of the UN and other international organizations, and Preston Wells Griffith III to be U.S. representative to the Vienna office of the UN and U.S. representative to the IAEA.
