This week, crews have restored traffic at the entrance of the emergency department at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, improving access for patients, visitors and emergency vehicles - and marking another step forward in construction on the hospital's new three-story patient tower.
With the next phase of construction underway, tower crews have moved much of the work inside, and public traffic has returned to normal along Ambulance Drive.
The roadway is now fully accessible from the Clinic Avenue, Professional Place and Dixie Street intersections.
This also restores sidewalk access through the campus and to the Tanner Medical Center Walking Trail. Access to the Carrollton GreenBelt is still available - however, the trail spur adjacent to the new West Georgia Dermatology office on Dixie Street will remain closed as construction on that project continues.
Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for more as we expand to better serve our community and create more space and access to quality care closer to home.
