Driver killed in head-on collision.
TITUSVILLE, Fla., Nov. 4, 2025 - On Monday November 3, 2025 at 10:25pm, a driver was killed after his car crossed into the oncoming lane and struck another vehicle head-on. The driver of the other vehicle was critically injured.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Ford Focus, being driven southbound on South St. (SR405) near Lilian Blvd, by Adam Sterling Briggs, 42, of Derbyshire Dr. Titusville, crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a northbound vehicle. The vehicle he struck was a 2007 Acura, being driven by Abigail Elise Carlo, 21, of Forest Trace Circle, Titusville.
The head on impact caused devastating damage to both vehicles. Briggs was pronounced deceased at the scene. Carlo was flown by helicopter to a trauma hospital with critical injuries.
Investigators believe a medical episode may be a contributing factor to why Briggs crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic.
This traffic fatality remains under investigation.
