Registrar of Voters Cynthia Paes has announced she plans to retire next February, after 23 years of service to the community with the County of San Diego.
The County's Registrar of Voter's office ensures the County administers fair, transparent and accurate elections with the highest level of integrity.
The Registrar started her County career with the Health and Human Services Agency in 2002. She moved on to the Registrar of Voters office in 2011 where she served as the Chief Deputy of the Election Services Division.
Two years later, she became the Assistant Registrar of Voters and was appointed as the Registrar of Voters in 2021.
The County is grateful for Paes' leadership and for her dedication to the voters of San Diego County.
Paes will remain through the November special election, and her last day in the office will be Feb. 5. The County has begun the transition process to fill the position.
