First Merchants Partnership Tackles Hunger in Monroe, Michigan

First Merchants is proud to partner with the Monroe Family YMCA to reduce food insecurity in our local communities.

At a recent board meeting, First Merchants donated $50,000 to the Monroe Family YMCA. These funds will be used to support the Monroe Family YMCA's Anti-Hunger Initiatives program, which works to provide fresh, nutritious food to nearby rural communities.

Anti-Hunger Initiatives program plans to use the donation to purchase a new, refrigerated food truck, which will help ensure the program reaches and nourishes additional communities.

"We are grateful for partners like First Merchants who share our commitment to strengthening communities and ensuring more families have access to the resources they need," the Monroe Family YMCA wrote in a Facebook post announcing the donation.

This donation supports First Merchants' commitment to our communities and our promise to help others prosper-whether that is providing quality financial services or working to ensure those we serve have access to necessities like food and housing.

Funds were presented by First Merchants team members Gretchen Eyler, Market President, and Nicole Thorpe, Relationship Manager III.
