NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources has received requests to amend the Plan of Operations and Reclamation Plan Approvals for the Anarraaq and Aktigiruq Exploration Program to support ongoing underground exploration and use of surface facilities for mineral development within private (NANA) and state lands in the Lisburne Mining District northeast of Kivalina.
This notice is pertaining to the Department's review and adjudication of the Anarraaq and Aktigiruq Exploration Program. These activities are subject to AS 38.05 (Alaska Land Act), AS 27.19 (Reclamation), and Alaska Administrative Code, Title 11 (Natural Resources) Chapter 86 (Mining Rights) and Chapter 97 (Mining Reclamation).

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: TAI is requesting approval to amend the current Plan of Operations and Reclamation Plan to relocate the location of the approved North Portal and Camp Pads to a site approximately four miles south along the access road to improve safety and underground efficiency. The proposed South Camp Pad will reside on NANA land with supporting facilities for water treatment, laydown yard, shop, and the camp. The South Portal and Pad will reside on state mining claims, which will include areas for waste rock and fuel storage. The proposed facilities are required to support a multi-year underground exploration program to identify a sufficient mineral resource that could sustain a conventional mining and milling operation.
