University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Promotes Kristie Ross, MD, MS, to Chief Medical Officer

CLEVELAND - University Hospitals is pleased to announce the promotion of Kristie Ross, MD, MS, to Chief Medical Officer of UH Rainbow Babies & Children's and the Children's Market, effective January 16. Dr. Ross has been serving as Interim Chief Medical Officer since June 2025.

Dr. Ross has been an integral part of UH Rainbow for more than two decades, serving in numerous leadership roles including Interim Vice Chair for UH Rainbow Clinical Operations and Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine since 2018. Her clinical expertise spans pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine, and she has made significant contributions to research, education, and quality improvement initiatives that have elevated care for children across Northeast Ohio and beyond.

A prolific researcher and educator, Dr. Ross has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, including abstracts, editorials, and book chapters focused on advancing pediatric respiratory health and sleep disorders.

Dr. Ross has received numerous honors throughout her career, including recognition as a UH Distinguished Physician and the Anton Leadership Fellowship.

Dr. Ross received her medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed residency training in pediatrics and fellowships in Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She also completed a master's degree in clinical research at the CWRU School of Medicine.
