Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn was elected as chair of the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Regional Council today during the agency's annual meeting.
Mayor Orsborn previously served as MAG Vice Chair, demonstrating his commitment to advancing the interests of Buckeye and the broader region.
"Proposition 479 is no longer a plan on paper; it is underway. Projects are moving forward across the region, and our role is to ensure strong regional coordination and responsible stewardship of the voter-approved funding that makes this work possible," said Mayor Orsborn.
During his term as Vice Chair, Mayor Orsborn was a strong advocate for accelerating the progress of infrastructure and transportation projects throughout the region. Mayor Orsborn often highlights how transportation growth directly benefits the West Valley, bringing new opportunities for residents and businesses, enhancing connectivity and improving the overall quality of life in the community.
MAG is a regional planning agency made up of 28 cities and towns, three Native nations, Maricopa County, portions of Pinal County and the Arizona Department of Transportation.
