As Secretary Rollins Travels to Kansas City, Missouri Soybean Farmers Suffer Under Trump’s Trade War Arrow

China, the largest buyer of U.S. soybeans, has yet to purchase any of this year's fall crop

Trump's Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins is in Missouri today to speak at the 11th Annual Agriculture Outlook Forum.

However hard she tries, she won't be able to dodge tough questions about Trump's disastrous economic policies that are decimating Missouri soybean farmers who've seen their orders dry up because of Trump.

Because of Trump's reckless tariffs and trade policies, China has not purchased any U.S. soybeans from this year's fall crop. Usually, China is the largest buyer of U.S.-grown soybeans by far. Without those orders, the livelihoods of soybean farmers across the state are at risk.

This crisis is especially acute in Missouri, since the state is the sixth-largest producer of soybeans in the U.S.

In response to Secretary Rollins' trip, DNC Deputy Executive Director Libby Schneider released the following statement:

"Missouri farmers are in crisis because of Donald Trump and Secretary Rollins. While Secretary Rollins jets into Missouri to try and defend Trump's toxic economic agenda, Missouri farmers won't let her off the hook for allowing Trump to raise their costs and destroy their way of life. This is classic Trump: He says he'll stand up for rural Missourians, while at the same time, selling them out time and time again."
