On April 18, Ren Faqiang, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Cape Town, attended the inauguration ceremony of the 9th Council of the Cape Town Association for the Peaceful Reunification of China. President Chen Zhujin, council members, overseas Chinese representatives and South African friends were present at the event.
In his address, Consul General Ren extended congratulations to President Chen Zhujin and the members of the new council. He expressed gratitude to overseas Chinese in Cape Town and South African friends for their support for the cause of China's peaceful reunification. Consul General Ren encouraged the association toremain committed to opposing Taiwan independence and advancing national reunification, to rally strength from all sectors of the overseas Chinese community, and to contribute to the early realization of the great cause of national reunification.
President Chen delivered a work report, reviewing the work achievements of the 8th Council, outlining plans and prospects for future work, and pledging that the association would keep forging ahead and firmly advance the great cause of peaceful national reunification.
