In northeast Broken Arrow, construction has begun on the new Fire Station #8. The construction crew is currently hauling in dirt to build the pad for the 11,000-square-foot facility. It will feature four apparatus bays, two captain's quarters, eight bunk rooms, and a fitness area. Upon completion, it will house an engine company, an ambulance, and a brush truck, further enhancing service to the community. Fire Station #8 is a $6 million, voter-approved investment in public safety paid by the 2018 General Obligation Bond.

At the Houston Street Waterline Project-from First Place to 6th Street - the drainage ditches have to be redesigned, causing a delay in the completion of this project. While the stormwater portion of the project is moving along, new plans and profiles are needed for the redesign.

A new Elevated Water Storage Tank is gracing the horizon at the corner of New Orleans and Lynn Lane. We expect to begin filling the tank soon. Once the tank is online, the concrete work on the access road will begin. The completion time for the entire project is expected toward the end of August.

Continuing on New Orleans Street, here's an update on the First Place Waterline and Trail Project. The crew has begun the excavation for the trail from Ithica Street to the Sequoyah Creek on First Place. The contractor is starting to drill the shafts for the bridge abutments and leveling the embankment so the pump truck can remain stable. A concrete return, curb, and gutter are being installed on the north and south sides of Canton Street.

At Melinda Park, southeast of the Albany and Garnett intersection, we're currently in Phase 2 of this neighborhood street rehabilitation project. This includes removing and replacing the asphalt on 64th Street, the curb and gutter, the sidewalk, the driveways, and the storm inlets. In this phase, the contractor is currently removing the pavement, building the road base, demolishing the curbs, and forming the new ones. This project is approximately 25 percent complete.

Next, at Arrow Forge, the Innovation District, construction crews are digging two detention ponds and will continue installing the outlet structures for the ponds to complete this project.
