Company appoints new CTO and board member and invests in go-to-market and customer-support leadership
Honk Technologies, a technology-enabled platform providing roadside assistance solutions, announced several leadership additions as the company builds on recent momentum.
Honk has appointed Ray Schauer as Chief Technology Officer and added Glenn Shapiro to its Board of Directors. The company also announced three additional placements in go-to-market and customer-support leadership. These investments in the team reinforce Honk's strategy of combining marketplace logistics, insurance expertise, and technology to improve roadside assistance and accident management for carriers, OEMs, fleets, providers, and motorists.
Schauer joins Honk after a decade at Grubhub, where he most recently served as Vice President of Engineering. He has led engineering across AI/ML infrastructure, vertical expansion initiatives, and logistics. As CTO, Schauer will lead Honk's platform roadmap, with a focus on dispatch optimization, real-time visibility, provider matching, data transparency, AI-enabled workflows, and scalable enterprise systems.
"Roadside assistance is a real-time logistics challenge," said Matt Maloney, Chairman of Honk. "It may look different from food delivery, but the core problem is similar: match urgent local demand with the right supply, create transparency, and use data to improve outcomes at scale. Ray helped us solve those problems at Grubhub, and he is the kind of technology leader who can support Honk through its next stage."
Honk also added Glenn Shapiro to its Board of Directors. Shapiro is a tenured insurance executive with more than three decades of senior claims leadership experience. He previously served as President of Allstate Insurance Company and, prior to that, Executive Vice President and Chief Claims Officer at Liberty Mutual. He also served on the board of Alacrity Solutions, a claims management company.
"Insurance carriers are focused on better policyholder experiences, faster resolution, stronger transparency, and lower total cost," said Adam DeWitt, CEO of Honk. "Glenn's experience will help Honk stay aligned with the operational realities and priorities of the carriers we serve."
Founded in 2014, Honk is a technology-enabled provider of roadside assistance solutions for insurance providers, OEMs, and fleet management companies. The company operates a national platform connecting motorists to a network of independent tow operators and light-duty service technicians, delivering a fully integrated customer interface and dispatch platform.
